A big part of this album was originally written for a live performance that I had booked for April 2020. During lockdown I decided to keep going with the set and perform it as a live stream. By the time I had done that I found that the tracks had evolved considerably and I was very fond of them. I decided to base an album around them and spent another couple of months working on the arrangement and also making some new tracks.
That whole period of lockdown was a reflective and introspective time. I really felt like I was in hibernation. I wanted this album to feel claustrophobic and spacious at the same time and I hope that comes across when listening. I had a huge amount of fun making this album and hopefully that is evident too.
